Mayor Heather Fargo's Welcome

As you all know, we are in a period of dramatic demographic, economic and social change as a result of our huge increase in population. How we manage the growth will affect the quality of life for the greater Sacramento area. As the center of the region, and the largest city, what we do affects many others.

Sacramento is making the transition from a government town to a Capital City. We need to believe in ourselves and in our city. All Sacramentans should be proud of our ongoing progress. We have a rich history and a bright future -- it's Sacramento's turn to shine.

My vision:
Sacramento will be the most livable city in America
